Last Friday, I attended the etiquette workshop by our own Senator Sonye Allanah. It was a masterclass on refinement, poise, and effective communication, offering invaluable insights and practical tips on navigating complex social situations with grace and confidence.
It was pragmatic, with many simulations involving everyone in the class. At the end of the day, we all came out better refined, with enhanced social skills and the grace to deal with uncomfortable business and social events. It was a novelty to learn new information that helped improve our communication, relationships, and interpersonal abilities.
Also, it was great to see Madam Sonye in her element, teaching social and soft skills she has learned in a lifetime as a diplomat, speaker and toastmaster. She was good; no, great and I was truly impressed.
I have asked for more training involving other ramifications of etiquette, and for our children, too. So, they don’t grow up with the social and cultural inhibitions we were burdened with. Hopefully, there will be more classes and an appeal to everyone to attend.

The Etiquette master class by Madam Sonye Allanah, was transformational.
She brought all the training tools to the class for us to see. We saw all the types of tea cups and glasses, she taught us how to use each of them. She taught us how to cut pieces of bread while taking soups, and not bite on the whole bread.
Those were very instructive lessons I use till today. It was a very engaging session. It’s been over two years now but I still recall how she told the gentlemen never to allow their shoes to face the audience.
She showed everyone the proper way to sit as a lady and a gentleman. I can go on and on because she is a great teacher and there is never a dull moment with her.
I strongly recommend her for all corporate training sessions, she brings her witty and engaging skills to every training experience. I always look forward to every session she hosts because they are always fresh and enlightening.

I had the pleasure of organizing etiquette and diplomacy training for my organization, and it was my very first experience with this type of program. Initially, I assumed it would be purely theoretical, but it turned out to be highly engaging and practical. Each day, we were required to prepare and act out scenarios, which made the learning process dynamic and hands-on.
